The Historic Hotel Bethlehem
Launches new Children’s Menu

Bethlehem, Pa., (August 11, 2008)  -The General Manager of the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, Dennis Costello, is pleased to announce a new children’s menu.

The new menu is geared toward parents concerned with feeding their children nutritious food, children who want food that looks and taste great, and families that want to dine out together, and not drive through.

The hotel’s executive chef, Bill Murphy, had the task of catering not only to parents tired of the same deep fried “kid food” served everywhere but also to children of all ages, some with more complex palates and some finicky eaters.  Some of Chef Murphy’s selections are scaled down versions of his regular menu, French onion soup, crab cake sandwich, chicken pot pie and meat loaf stuffed with ham, cheese and spinach, served with mashed potatoes.  Other selections from Chef Murphy are more of the staples chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese and grilled cheese.  Chef Murphy is the father of three young children, so he understands what kids eat.

The menu includes separate selections for breakfast, lunch, dinner, specialty drinks and, of course, desserts.  Chef Murphy uses organically and locally farmed products.

To launch the children’s menu the Historic Hotel Bethlehem is offering a free Shirley Temple to any child (14 and under) dining at our restaurant who can answer one of the Hotel B’s history questions! (Shirley Temple is a former guest of the Hotel Bethlehem-so we have a special affinity for her.)
