Bethlehem, Pa. (May 2, 2011) – Dennis J. Costello, General Manager of the Historic Hotel Bethlehem, has been invited to the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C. to meet with Japan’s Ambassador, Ichiro Fujisaki. Dennis Costello initiated a fundraising event to benefit the victim’s of the recent earthquake/tsunami. The hotel held a special “Japan Aid” Sunday Brunch on April 3rd and raised more than $4000 dollars. When notified of this, embassy officials extended the invitation to Dennis Costello, who will be delivering the hotel’s donation check on Thursday May 5th, accompanied by Congressman Charlie Dent.
Dennis Costello formerly worked for a hotel firm headquartered in Osaka, Japan as well as one in Hawaii, where both the guests and staff were predominantly of Japanese decent. Costello states “I gained a huge respect for not only Japanese culture and traditions, but the people as well, they are polite, kind and considerate and the Hotel Bethlehem is honored to donate to the disaster relief.”
